Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA) and Moderati Launch LMFAO Romplr, an Interactive iPhone Music Application Allowing Fans to Mix Songs “I’m in Miami, Trick”, “Yes” and “La La La”

SAN FRANCISCO - Bellrock Media’s U.S. subsidiary, Moderati, has released the next edition of “Romplr™”, their patent-pending interactive music platform. This time they’ve teamed up with electro-hop superstars, LMFAO, to allow people to create their own mixes from three of LMFAO’s hits – “I’m in Miami, Trick”, “Yes” and “La La La”. Using the key elements of the song, Romplr makes it easy for fans to create their own unique versions and share them with their friends.
“We’ve always believed that music and technology go hand in hand. Romplr itself takes the best of gaming, music and mobile and makes it fun for our fanbase,” said Red Foo of LMFAO.
Consumers have proven that they want their media to be interactive – the rise of social media, video gaming and interactive TV have paved the way but until now, music has not been an interactive experience for consumers. With Romplr, fans can now connect to artists’ music in a whole new personal way by creating their own versions of a song and being part of the creative process. In addition to the core song elements, the LMFAO Romplr will feature seven additional samples, offering fans the tools to really connect with the music and personalize LMFAO’s tracks. Fans can then record and share their mixes through Facebook Connect, through email or on Romplr.com, the online interactive music companion site.
“IGA is always on the lookout for new and compelling ways to connect artists and their audience,” stated Ted Mico, IGA’s Executive VP of Digital. “LMFAO Romplr is great because it allows any fan to have fun mixing the songs without having to have any music skills at all.”
With LMFAO Romplr, Moderati, America’s leading mobile content agency, continues to cement its position in branded mobile entertainment. The company’s Virtual Zippo Lighter iPhone application ranked #18 on Comscore’s all-time iPhone application downloads list.
“Empowering fans to interact with the music they love is proving to be the hot space for digital music right now and we’re excited that Romplr is being allowed to deliver that experience to fans and artists,” said Jon Vlassopulos, CEO of Moderati.
