Brand Your Music started in February of this year under the direction of myself and Jabari Oliver, the wonderful Editor of this site. Over these months, Jabari and I have worked tirelessly to give you the best content we could put together. I would like to take this time to publicly acknowledge his role in Brand Your Music and thank him for his work on this column.
As the title of this entry suggests, this is the final entry of the Brand Your Music column. I feel that I’ve done all that I can in teaching you, the artist, how to see yourself and your music as a viable competitive brand. I’ve come to you every Tuesday offering to you a new take on how branding, and its many concepts, can be applied to your overall music marketing strategy. I’ve shown you how brands work in the real world and even given many of you an opportunity to highlight your music brand through the Brand Your Music Interview Series. Others of you I’ve developed relationships with and have even helped to promote your music brand outside of this column. All in all, this column has served me, and hopefully you, very well.
I want to thank all of you who came back each week to gain new insight. I want to thank all of the artists and music industry professionals who were a part of the interview series. I want to thank those artists who’ve personally told me that my advice inspired and encouraged them in some way. I want to thank all of you for making Brand Your Music a success. I simply wanted to help artists help themselves and I did just that.
While this may be the last time I write to you, please know that I’m still around. In an effort to continue the Brand Your Music movement, I’ve created an exclusive Brand Your Music Facebook community. In this community, you can post new music, ask your most pressing brand questions, and network with other artists and industry professionals. To join the Brand Your Music community, follow me on Twitter @saqqaraanasa to receive the page link or simply click here to join.
With the knowledge you’ve gained, go out and showcase your brand to the world. There is something unique to your music brand that needs to be shared. Feel free to reach out to me to share your success and remember no one can build your music brand better than you can!
Sincerely your brand marketing strategist,
Saqqara M. Grant
